The megalithic bridge comprised of huge stone slabs is found suppored by big stone pillars over a small river locally known as'Um-Nyakanah'. The term 'Um' indicates water as per local tradition and the bridge is said to be constructed by the Jaintia Kings who ruled from Jaintiapur in late medieval period.
